St. Paul’s Anglican Church, built in 1845 is the oldest church in northern Ontario.

For over 160 years it has provided an active focal point for spiritual leadership, while showcasing architectural design and craftsmanship from early pioneer times.

This picturesque, historic landmark attracts many visitors annually and has also been painted by renowned artist A.J. Casson, a member of the Group of Seven.

Given the significance that the church played in the early development of the community of Manitowaning and its surrounding areas, a book was published in 1995 entitled “A History of St. Paul’s Anglican Church”.
