Bay Street Marina is
located a short distance South of Heywood Island in the North Channel and is
nestled in a picturesque bay side setting on the shores of
Manitowaning, the
first European settlement on Manitoulin Island.
Often characterized as a
safe haven for boaters during inclement weather conditions with natural
deep-water accessibility, this destination features a full service marina and 39
docking slips that can accommodate vessels to a maximum length of 80’. The
Marina Manager and staff uphold an excellent reputation - personably tailored to
ensure the highest level in customer service and satisfaction while visiting the community. Docks
are offered for seasonal tenants and transient visitors. Shore power is
available, as is gas, diesel, pump-outs, ice, washrooms showers and laundry
facilities.
After
docking at Bay Street Marina, visitors may wish to tour the Assiginack Museum Heritage Complex,
a pleasant stroll from the marina and downtown core.
Additional
attractions include: the S.S. Norisle - currently closed for public viewing, as
a refit project is being pursued to reinstate Norisle as a Great Lakes Steam
Heritage Cruise Ship. (please visit

Burns Wharf Theatre; St.
Paul's Anglican Church - the oldest
church in Northern Ontario; downtown shopping and dining in a warm friendly
environment. Other services available include - ATM banking, laundromat,
liquor/beer store, pharmacy, medical/dental clinic, and lodging.
Our Community is pleased
to offer visitors exciting activities such as: local theatre, swimming, tennis, fishing, hiking
and golf. The Rainbow Ridge Golf Course features 18 holes of golfing enjoyment,
with a recently constructed Club House open to the public.
