NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC DECLARATION OF STATE OF EMERGENCY

Notice Re: Continued Emergency State
Please be advised that the State of Emergency remains in effect for the Township.
Weather forecasts indicate additional precipitation is expected throughout this weekend. Given the current ground conditions, there is an increased risk of further flooding and hazardous conditions.
Please monitor conditions and report any flooding to the Township by calling (705) 859-3780.

ROAD UPDATE
Bidwell Road is now open to LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY.
Please avoid the area if you do not live on this street.
Thank you for you patience and cooperation.
 
8 a.m. - 
We are still under a STATE OF EMERGENCY.
Please stay off the roads if possible. Avoid all non-essential travel to allow crews to do their work.
Thank you for your cooperation.
 
Sunsite Estates Road is under repair and closed to all non-local traffic. Heavy equipment is operating in the area.
DO NOT ENTER. Please respect the closure so crews can complete their work safely.
 

APRIL 14, 2026 – 2 pm

Due to flooding and existing and potential washouts, please be advised that the Township of Assiginack has declared a State of Emergency.

All residents are strongly urged to stay home and allow our crews, as well as Emergency crews to respond in a timely fashion.

All public utilities could potentially be at risk.

Please make sure you are prepared.

Please note that emergency response times may also be delayed.
